Sometimes, the easiest games are the best. Follow the Leader is a fantastic way to encourage movement, listening skills, and connection—all with zero prep!
Simply choose a leader, and everyone else follows their movements. You can hop, twirl, stomp, crawl, wave, or even add in animal actions like slithering like a snake or flapping like a bird. Let your child lead too—kids love taking charge and seeing their grownups follow along with their wild ideas!

Play
Step 1:
Choose who will be the leader first.
Step 2:
The leader moves however they like for everyone to copy - making shapes with their fingers, jumping, running, dancing, waving arms, or making silly faces. Your creativity's the limit!
Step 3:
After a while, switch roles and let someone else be the leader.
Extend
Simon Says Twist: Add a rule where players can only move if the leader says "Simon says" first.
Obstacle Course Leader: Set up pillows, chairs, or tape on the floor and have the leader guide everyone through a homemade obstacle course.
Mirror Mode: Instead of a single leader, have players face a partner and copy their movements like a mirror.
