Ignite your little ones' creativity and musical exploration using everyday kitchen items. Raid the kitchen for pots, pans, wooden spoons, metal bowls, and any other safe kitchen items that can produce sound.
Raid your kitchen cupboards for non-breakable utensils of different materials. Think pots, wooden spoons, colanders, and spice bottle "shakers". Lay out enough to make it interesting but not too much to overwhelm (up to 5 items may suffice).
Lay all the utensils out on the floor near to you and give a little demo.
Enjoy your kitchen soundtrack as your little one bangs, taps and shakes. If you have multiple "band mates", they can choose their role as pot drummer, spoon clanger or whatever else their imagination creates!
Have them rehearse and give the grown-ups a performance later.
Sing nursery rhymes and familiar songs along with the music
Play "Guess the Instrument" where one person makes noise with their chosen utensil while the others close their eyes and shout out what they think it is.
