A super easy and satisfying activity that keeps little hands busy while sneaking in some learning! Grab an empty cardboard tube (or a piece of paper if you don't have any on hand) and draw shapes, colours, numbers, or letters on it. Then, give your child matching stickers to place on top of the drawn symbols.
For further variations, you could match pictures to words, rhyming words, uppercase to lowercase letters or sums & phonics for older kids!
Peeling and sticking is great for fine motor...
Draw a few symbols (colours, shapes, numbers, or letters) on the cardboard tube.
Mark matching symbols on the dot stickers.
Show your child the cardboard tube with the drawn symbols.
Hand them the stickers and encourage them to find the matching spots.
Let them peel and place each sticker on top of its corresponding drawing.
Mix things up by making patterns or setting a challenge (e.g., "Can you match all the red ones first?").
Telescope play: Continue decorating the tube and turn it into a telescope for pretend play
Rolling game: Grab a container wide enough to fit the tube or mark a goal with some toy blocks, then take turns trying to roll the tube into the goal.
Writing practice: Reverse roles and let your child practice their writing or mark-making skills and create a puzzle for you to solve.
