I help parents turn chaos into connection and laughter through play.
Laughter really is the best medicine - and sometimes all it takes is being a bit ridiculous together. In this playful game, you simply take turns asking: “What if I laughed like this?” and then perform the silliest laugh you can think of. It could be a deep villain cackle, a squeaky mouse giggle, or even a silent laugh with exaggerated shaking.
The rest of the family joins in, copying the laugh or coming up with their own twist. Pretty soon, the fake laughs turn into unstoppable real ones. This is a brilliant tool for breaking tension, shifting a cranky mood, or just adding a burst of joy to the day!
One person asks, "What if I laughed like this?" and then shows their silly, "weird" laugh.
Everyone else copies it or adds their own version.
Take turns inventing new kinds of laughs.
Keep going until the giggles turn genuine (which doesn’t take long!).
Try to keep a straight face: When it’s not your turn, try not to smile for real! Likewise, when it is your turn, try to snap back to a serious face right after your silly laugh.
What is I smiled like this: a silent version
What if I cried like this: your silliest boo-hoo
Hear me out… What if I tooted like this? (If you dare, this is guaranteed laughter).
