A super simple way to combine name recognition, letter formation and fine motor practice - with zero pressure and plenty of sticker-y fun.
Just write a word or your child's name in large letters on a piece of paper, then invite them to cover the lines with stickers. It doesn’t need to be perfect! This is about the process, not perfection.
You can also try using a friend’s name or a relative's - or turn it into a handmade birthday card. A lovely creative way for them to connect with writing while strengthening finger muscles in a way that keeps them interested.
Write a word or name in large, clear letters on a sheet of paper.
Set out stickers next to them, optionally in a bowl or small container.
Invite your child to stick stickers along the letters.
Encourage them to take their time and follow the lines, but let it be fun and flexible.
Try using different names or adding drawings to make a birthday card or wall art.
If they’re up for it, try decorating other familiar words - like "Mum", "Dad" or "Love."
DIY Birthday Card: Fold the paper first and write the name on the front for an instant handmade birthday card.
Mixed media word art: Use other materials like dot markers, washi tape, or little stamps instead of stickers.
Single letter: Try tracing just one letter of the alphabet or the first letter of their name; a good variation if they’re younger or focussing on learning one letter at a time.
Mirror Letters: Write their name backward and hold it up to a mirror for a fun visual surprise!
