With trucks or toy cars as your bowling balls, you can turn almost anything into “pins.” Line up blocks, stack paper cups, or stand up figurines, then rev up your vehicle and send it speeding for the strike.
You can set up on the floor, down a hallway, or even on a ramp for extra speed. The joy is in the crash - and then rebuilding for another round.
This activity is perfect for rainy days, giving kids a big outlet for their energy while practising aim, counting, and fine motor skills as they set things up.
Choose a space with a smooth surface.
Set up your chosen "bowling pins" in a triangle or line.
Place trucks or cars at the starting line.
Line up your truck or car at the starting point.
Give it a push or send it down the ramp toward the pins.
Count how many fall over and reset for another round.
Block shapes: Experiment stacking blocks in different heights or shapes to knock down.
DIY pins: Decorate paper cups with silly faces or other themes as an extra craft-itivity
Make it a race: Race different cars and see which one goes fastest / knocks more pins down, either by yourself or with someone else
Maths twist: Count how many pins get knocked down and practice minusing it from the total
