This silly and surprisingly delightful game involves sitting still while someone secretly places a toy or object behind you - on your bum!
The challenge? Guess what it is using only your sense of touch (no peeking!). It’s playful, easy, and a great way to practise focus, body awareness, and turn-taking.
Perfect for tired days when you still want to connect, or moments where everyone needs a reset or a shared laugh, slow mornings, post-nap connection, or tough transition times.
None! Just grab a few safe, familiar items.
Explain the game then lie down on your belly and close your eyes. (Enjoy your minute of relaxation!)
Let them gently place a toy or object on your bum or lower back.
Guess what it is without looking. Ask for clues if you need it and to help them develop their language skills.
Take turns and enjoy the giggles!
Shape sorting: Use only items of a certain shape (round, square, etc.) and have them guess the category.
Sound clues: Give clues or make sound effects for extra silliness.
"What's on my back?" variation: Use the same idea but with larger items and try placing them on your backs while lying down.
Charades: Let them act out the clues to you without words for an extra game!
